Marion Bull
ADVISORY - PORTS
Marion Bull brings a unique mix of industrial knowledge and creativity to the International Forwarding Academy with his 30 years of experience in Marine Transportation and love of photography. He began his career at the South Carolina Ports Authority as a port photographer and magazine editor in 1988. After a short time as Publications Manager for the South Carolina Waterfowl Association, he rejoined the Ports Authority as the Manager of Advertising and Publications.
In 2007, Bull was promoted to Marketing Manager where he spent the next 15 years developing marketing strategies and sales support tools which streamlined messaging and gave the Port a cutting-edge digital presence in the quickly developing online space.
In 2021, he was elevated to his current position as Manager of Business Development where he uses his marketing and presentation background to engage with global business leaders to drive economic growth in the state, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars of investment in communities in South Carolina.
Bull’s experience in branding, strategic planning, graphic design, and presentation leadership in the international logistics arena provide depth and color to the IFA brand. His fields of expertise include US trade trends, port performance evaluation, and port-dependent site selection. “I have a passion for the wonky, intricate, dynamic details that drive supply chain decisions,” he says. “Thirty years in and the minute I think I really get it, I see something I’ve never seen before; something that blows me away. Fortunately, I embrace the learn.”
Bull is also a professional photographer and enjoys working outside shooting landscapes and wildlife. When he is not working, his passions are in spending time with his family and backpacking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Wyoming, and Montana.
