We are a group of professionals with extensive experience in the international shipping industry. Our expertise covers all areas such as international freight forwarding, customs, ocean and air freight, surface transportation and the regulatory requirements that surround it. We have in-depth knowledge of the operational processes within our respective fields gained from our professional experience.
The International Forwarding Academy provides training for individuals in the International Transportation Community.
These are robust courses that cover operational, infrastructure, customer service, financial and regulatory aspects. We focus and cater to operators, supervisors, department heads and depending on their size business owners. Coming out of the industry and operating these desks, we have a very good understanding of the workings but also the pain points we have all faced.
We have a proven track record of success with our training, having received positive feedback from students who have included International Freight Forwarders, Importers & Exporters, Logistics Managers, and personnel from Business Development, Financial, and HR departments.
The International Forwarding Academy's trainers have a wealth of experience in the international shipping industry, with a combined total of over 250 years of experience. They are experts in their field and bring valuable insights and real-world examples to the training programs. They understand the unique challenges and opportunities of the industry, and are dedicated to helping our students succeed.

Frank Szewczyk
MANAGING PARTNER
Frank Szewczyk brings 45 years of industry experience to the International Forwarding Academy. He started his career as an International Freight Forwarder in 1975 for a small company called KYFI, which was the 5th US Forwarder to obtain their NVOCC authority in the country.
Juerg Gege
EXECUTIVE PARTNER
Juerg Gege began his career as an International Forwarding Apprentice at Nord Transport AG in 1969 in Basel, Switzerland and brings 50+ years of Global Freight Forwarding experience to the Academy.

Jackie Adamson
ADVISORY – TRANSPORTATION RISK & EXPOSURE
Jacqueline Adamson began her accomplished career in the Import / Export Industry in 1973 with the John S. James Company, an international and domestic freight forwarding company. There she was responsible for operations at 4 regional offices: Charleston, SC, Charlotte, NC, Norfolk, VA and Wilmington, NC.
L. Marion Bull
ADVISORY – PORTS
Marion Bull brings a unique mix of industrial knowledge and creativity to the International Forwarding Academy with his 30 years of experience in Marine Transportation and love of photography.
G. Coleman Thompson
ADVISORY – SURFACE TRANSPORTATION
G. Coleman Thompson’s career in the transportation industry started in 1979 as a dock worker for Burlington Northern Air Freight at their Charlotte, NC facility. He was quickly promoted to Domestic Inbound Coordinator, handling cargo logistics for the facility.
