Raymond Donahue has been a Freight Forwarding Industry leader of almost 40 years. He started out his career as a Sales Manager for Panalpina’s San Francisco office in 1982 where he was responsible for the design and development of supply chain models for the burgeoning hi-tech industry taking hold in Silicon Valley.

From there, Donahue became Branch Manger and then Regional Vice President for US Southwest at Panalpina LAX where he managed over $100 million in revenue and 150+ staff. He actively managed all aspects of a major forwarding operation, including finance/accounting, personnel, plant operations, sales, and warehousing, local delivery & pick-up services.

In 1999, he moved on to DHL Global Forwarding / Danzasas Regional Sales Manager of the US Western Region, then quickly became Vice President of Field Sales USA. Over the next five years, as Deutsche Post acquired more than 50 logistics companies, including Danzas, DHL, Airborne Express, AEI, etc., Donahue was responsible for the evaluation, consolidation & organization of the sales personnel into a single DHL Global Forwarding. sales force that would be dominant in the marketplace. He led 300+ sales & business development people to success nationwide.

In 2005 he saw a need for a dedicated sector for Military and Government Agencies logistics and personally established the Governments and Defense Department for DHL where he became Senior Vice President. He built a team of 14 sector industry experts, both civilian and former military personnel. The revenues grew quickly, with $350 million by 2010. At the helm, he was responsible for management of four high-priority sub-sectors; US Dept. of Defense (DOD), the top 12 U.S.-based commercial defense contractors (DEFCON), Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and Other Govt Agencies (OGA). The Govts & Defense team sold over 2 million kgs of airfreight to Afghanistan in 2010.

Donahue then found opportunity in Anchorage, Alaska, where he joined Naniq Global Logistics as Executive Vice President. Under the Alaska Native Settlement Claims Acts (ANSCA), NGL Intl. provides supply chain and logistics services to both government & commercial Customers worldwide.

In 2014 Donahue took the position of President at Toll Global Forwarding where he Implemented a Domestic Product to accommodate a large contract with Amazon and further developed the product portfolio by launching a successful Public Sector vertical, thus increasing air export revenue by 50%.

He left the company in 2018 and is now President of Defense Logistics Services and a Subject Matter Expert in government, defense, and military sales to executive level management, both civilian and military. This includes air freight and sea freight operations, import & export regulations, domestic trucking and intermodal, aircraft & ship chartering. He holds a valid US Customhouse Broker’s license since 1994 and have HAZMAT & IATA certifications.
